Details on Kanye West's "Good Ass Job" Emerge; Rap World Rejoices

Details have been slowly coming out about 'Ye's new album. Rumored collaborators floating around include RZA, Q-Tip and Pete Rock for production and Big Sean, Dwele, Drake and Clipse for some verses. So far Q-Tip and Dwele have confirmed they are in fact working on the project and Sean's been on record as contributing, I believe out in Hawaii, as well.

No real surprises on the cameos except for the possibilities of RZA and Pete Rock contributing. And really besides this lineup, all rap fans could really wish for is a Jay-Z appearance, and personally I'd like a Consequence and Mos Def to pop back up in the tracklist somewhere. A verse by Lupe would be dope too. The mixtape Lupe though.

Good Ass Job appears to be lining up to be a classic hip-hop album. I've told anyone that would listen for the past year and a half that 808s is the best thing to happen to hip-hop music, and I think the product that will be GAJ will show that. But that is for another blog post another day.

Conair remixes Reading Rainbow for first single off EP

Conair got his Bandcamp up a while back and has got the first track from his Child Hood EP posted.

The entire EP - tentatively scheduled for an August release - will consist of children's television program's remixed theme songs from Con's own upbringing.

"Take My Word For It" is the first single and features a flipped Reading Rainbow theme. Plus, there's a pretty sharp criticism of emcees and proper grammer usage in the verses.

Anyhoo, all praises to GLC for unleashing this never-before-heard heater. Recorded in 1996 (yes, 2Pac was still alive), and produced by a young Kanye West, The Outfit was an early version of the Go-Getters. Today, OG Neckbone (no seriously, that's his name), sent me some throwback footage of a young Kanye West working in the studio as well as spitting a few bars. I'm guessing this is 6-7 years old, but it could even be older than that. It even features some footage at Baseline Studios in NYC with Jay-Z and company, not to mention a quick shot of GLC and Kanye walking through the mall (in front of the Lark) while GLC enjoys an Icee.

This is a must watch. The boy has come a long way! I doubt he could even go in a mall these days.

And what is the track he's playing for Jigga and Young Guru? I'm sure someone has it in their vaults. Please donate to the FSD fund.
