Jay Electronica "Swagger Jackson's Revenge"
"the hope on a politician's tongue never trickles down to the city"
More new Jay, who I've always enjoyed but honestly gets better every time I listen to him. Gotta love artists like that. I think this is more off of Scratches and Demo Tape: Volume 1.

Mikkey Halsted "No Christmas"
"but that's why i don't give a fuck about no christmas"
The man makes very valid points, plus that picture makes him look like he hates Christmas. Happy Holidays.

Joell Ortiz "Day 'n' Nite" Williamsburg/Greenpoint Brooklyn Remix
"day and night, he's tryin' to earn, he invest in this grind..."
The Free Agent writes the hustler anthem to what NahRight just claimed was a "modern classic." I would agree. What's up with all these remixes just now hitting though, this track's been out for a minute. Kinda like the "Paper Planes" complex.

a little bit of laughter to conceal my woes,

Jota, a.k.a. Jay Electronica, goes at the Gnarls track. I fucking love this.

Mixtape - Adele & Mick Boogie: 1988
You already got a taste of Adele's Mick Boogie remixed album yesterday with the Naledge joint. Here's the whole thing. This tape's got Adele's vocals reimagined over classic hip-hop beats from that foul year of our lord, 1988. Rapper Big Pooh's gotta nice lookout on here, as does 6th Sense. Decent, by which I mean, cop it.

Naledge "Bird Walk" Freestyle
"honor me in the same position as your god dang momma be"
I wouldn't have guessed that there would be Naledge going in over a Soulja Boy Tell'em beat. Weird that I have two Naledge posts back-to-back.

Adele Feat. Naledge "First Love" Remot Remix
"that's probably why i felt that we should end it
and that other dude's in your top friend list"
and that other dude's in your top friend list"
Adele is an English singer who Mick Boogie has decided to put together a remix album of her tracks. I'm with the idea. This is a little sample with half of Kidz in the Hall on what will become known as 1988, titled after Adele's birthday. We(me) here at Bringin'88Back couldn't argue for a better album title.
Kanye West Feat. Big Sean & Mr. Hudson "Paranoid" Remix
"i wouldn't be real if i ain't have my fair share like stock exchange"
The youngest and newest of the G.O.O.D. fam jump on what seems to be the remix track of choice from 808. Actually, it might be between this track and "Say You Will" in the revision department. This is off that New Deal mixtape I posted up the other day.

Kardinal Offishall Feat. Dr. Dre & Pusha T "Set it Off" Remix
"i was gone for a minute but i'm back to get it on again
refuse to lose, the champion"
refuse to lose, the champion"
This is what is says on NahRight, via Skee:
We (Skee.TV) shot the “Set It Off” video for Kardinal ft. The Clipse, and Jimmy Iovine loved it and sent it to Dre direct (since we had the Beats By Dre headphones in it). Then, Dre loved the song & video so much he was inspired to do a verse on it that night (I got called by the label the next day saying Dre rapped on it after being inspired by our video- a pretty good feeling). This was when he was still trying to come out with Detox this year and he wanted to start hopping on records… needless to say, those plans later changed, and thus the remix never came out (it just leaked somehow today, but was done months ago), but it is 100% real and official…
I would believe that, especially the part about Dre writing his own verse. Not the most lyrical genius to ever grace a track. Still exciting though.

Video - Every Kanye West Sample
Granted I'm posting this because I think it's a cool video, DefSounds has it posted up because I've just decided they are a bunch of haters. Yeah, I just called them haters.
Video - Asher Roth and Charles Hamilton Discussing Things Backstage
Well, safe to say a project between these two would piss a lot of people off. I would be all over it, mostly because I honestly don't have any idea what it would sound like. My guess would be good.
I also think Obama should try out the Autotune speech. I'm just saying.

Dizzee Rascal Arrested for Road Rage and Video for "Bonkers"
Big Game for Deon Thompson
Ah, I miss UNC basketball. I got to catch the game via an internet feed but it got pretty laggy. That's not a word, but it was full of lag. I did, however, still get to witness Deon's 22 point outing, a career high I believe. Tyler Hansbrough is also approaching Phil Ford's UNC scoring record which he is only nine points shy of now. That one's a big one, but I have my eye set out for J.J. Redick's ACC record of 2,769 points. Tyler is sitting at 2,282 and there is 21 regular season games left. So, not counting the ACC or NCAA tournaments that I am hoping UNC will make (very) deep runs into, Tyler could actually break the record by the end of the season by averaging a little over 23 points a game. That may be a stretch, but with the help of tourny games, I think the kid can do it. And he's gotten this far without the help of 3 pointers.
Video - Charles Hamilton "Brooklyn Girls"
I still have yet to watch this video because it will never load for me. I did see some clips of it in the background of that debauchery that was the video for "Word? Aight!" I like the song, regardless, and the video clips I saw were good.
Video - Kanye West "Heartless" & "Pinocchio Story' Medley
Mr. West performing at the Z100 Jingle Ball combines two goodies from his latest. Still wondering why there isn't a quality version of "Pinocchio" out yet. I'm waiting.
