Mixtape - Asher Roth "Seared Foie Gras with Quince and Cranberry"

I've promised myself to start blogging again and maybe this will kick-start it. I'll be reviewing this come next Thursday for the Daily Tar Heel.

I'm definitely feeling "Vagitables" where he goes in over some Little Brother/9th Wonder.

Asher Roth "Family Man" [Previously Unreleased] [New]

"and there's an inner wealth within the self with chillin' with the fam "

Man, big day already. This is the track that got Paul signed by Scooter Braun 2 years ago after he heard it on MySpace. So, not really new, but I'm sure you haven't heard it.

So, I'm going to try to keep up with posts today. I've got an article, paper, test, another test, another article and an interview in the next two days, so bear with me.

Video - Asher Roth "Lark On My Go-Kart" Video

What turnaround. Single gets dropped yesterday and now we have the video. This vid is also more align with what I thought Paul would be promoted as. Well, besides frat-tastic. Also glad Blumpkin King got the visual it deserved.

Asher Roth "Lark On My Go-Kart" and Asleep in the Bread Aisle Tracklist

"ash roth be the king of the blumpkins"
"kind of like the blond bob sagat, ash can get nasty"

If I am not mistaken, this is not the first time I've heard Phil drop a Teddy Ruxpin line. Anyways, feeling this intro track to his debut album, out 4/20 if I'm not mistaken. Side note: that spelling of blond is AP style correct for describing a male. Blam! Journalism degree.

Why not the tracklist that I mixed:

01. Lark On My Go Cart [Prod. By Oren Yoel & David Appleton]
02. Blunt Cruisin’ [Prod. By Oren Yoel]
03. I Love College [Prod. By Mike Carren & Ben Allen]
04. La Di Da [Prod. By Don Cannon]
05. Fallen [Prod. By Novel]
06. Be By Myself (Ft. Cee-Lo) [Prod. By Oren Yoel)
07. She Don’t Want A Man (Ft. Estelle) [Prod. By Oren Yoel]
08. Sour Patch Kids [Prod. By Oren Yoel]
09. As I Em (Ft. Chester French) [Prod. By Oren Yoel & David Appleton]
10. Bad Day (Ft. Jazze Pha) [Prod. By Oren Yoel & David Appleton]
11. Lions Roar (Ft. Busta Rhymes & Lil’ Wayne) [Prod. By Oren Yoel)
12. His Dream (Ft. Miguel) [Prod. By Oren Yoel]
13. Nothing You Can’t Do [Prod. By Nottz)

And yes, for any Stans, the Weezy and Bust cameos are going to happen.

Asher Roth "20 Minute Freestyle"

"now i'm the rap king, and everybody calls me simba because i'm the young buck taking it all"

This goes with all those freestyles Asher did over the last week in the UK. Just going on for 20 minutes. Worth the post just for sheer length. I also like how Tim Westwood kept dropping Eminem beats. The "Fresh Prince" was hot too.

Naledge Feat. Vic Mensah "Mile High Club"

"i'm mister 'my bitch got a fat ass and light eyes'"

Feels like it's been so long. Actually, it has. I missed a lot over the weekend. Some Asher Roth, some Mickey, some Wale, some major Kanye. I'll try to make it up to y'all this week. Here's a start with Naledge.

Asher Roth "Silly Boy" [Prod. by Don Cannon]

"...may be the reason why i'm tweaking on this verse"

This, more than anything by Asher thus far, sounds like Eminem, especially the synthy-piano background. Not sure how I feel about the chorus, but still straight. Just don't hope the entire album doesn't sound like this.
