iLLaNoise Feat. Phil G "Electric Relaxation 2009"

"pardon me that was all up in my mental
now, back to the issue where the noise is official"

This is a pretty bold undertaking, trying your hand at one of the top 2 Tribe tracks in existence. i fucks with it. Revenge of the Backpack is going to be a mixtape of remixed classics such as "Relaxation."

Video - 50 Cent Claims "Crack a Bottle" As His Own; 1st Single Off "Before I Self Destruct"

That's shady, no pun intended. I don't know how this works. 50 just takes the single because it's doing well. 50's lyrics are worse than Dre's dumbed-down ones. In no way should he have rights to this. On second thought, maybe he should; it makes him look stupid.

Chip Tha Ripper "Thank God"

"if i was mike phelps, dog, you know what i'd do?
have a mother fucking marijuana photo shoot
with all my gold medals on my neck, puffin' a blunt
holdin' up a sign that say 'stay off my nuts'""

I got onto Chip first through that blogger's wet dream collabo of him, Mickey Factz, Naledge and Mic Terror. This is over some solid 6th Sense production. Just a quick, solid verse.

Video - Shawn Chrystopher "(I'm Not Your) N.I.G.G.E.R."

(I'm Not Your) N.I.G.G.E.R. from IWG TV on Vimeo.

Off of I.W.G., in case you somehow missed that. Got this sent over to me with these words:

I really hope people enjoy this video. It seems Black History Month really doesn’t mean that much to us anymore, and though I won’t be able to change it single-handedly, I would however like to draw some attention to show everyone, especially my fellow artists, where exactly we came from.

I watch Spike Lee’s “Bamboozled” religiously and realize that a lot of the Black musicians today take their notoriety and success as something that is owed to them. I really hope after watching this video, that mindset changes; for the better.

Suite for Ma Dukes "Find a Way"

So, essentially what this is is a 30-piece orchestra that's got an EP out and is doing a performance of Dilla tracks to raise money for mother Yancey who's not doing well. Sounds good. Props to all these Dilla posts today as well.

Charles Hamilton "Scorpion"

"she cool when she high so someone get her a dutch"

Charles has got this here new mixtape dropping just in time for Valentine's.

In his own words:

“Basically, the project is an episode of “Cinematic Hallucinations”, which is like a Masterpiece Theatre kind of show. It’s hosted and narrated by Conner Harrington (me). And the movie being premiered is “Well Isn’t This Awkward”, a movie that stars Charles Hamilton and an “anonymous” female.
Charles Hamilton is a homeless musician (not a hard role to play) that has a paranormal romantic bond with a rich young woman that lives in a penthouse. They never verbally spoke or physically saw each other, but they’re in love in their own dimension.
One day, the owner of the building invited Charles inside to play his music for the people of the building. This is his chance to both impress a crowd of rich people who can possibly change his living situation and let the girl he’s in love with supernaturally know how he feels… on the surface.”

Lil Wayne "The Carter III" Wins Best Rap Album

So, I knew this was coming, but I'm still bummed about it. I thought Jay, Lupe and Nas all had better albums all the way through, but this is kinda how it goes. Oh well, maybe next year.

Lil Wayne and Robin Thicke Perform "Tie My Hands" at the Grammys

As much as I pick at Wayne, I have to say his performance tonight of "Tie My Hands" was a solid act, integrating New Orleans staples and legends like the Brass Band. I'm sure, slash know, it was the Grammy people's decision to do all that, but it was a good moment. I'm glad Wayne actually put a good image of hip-hop into other people who are not informed about the genre's mind. Both him and Jay's "Lost" Remix were solid.

Side: Why is will.i.am still campaigning for Barack?

Josh Groban Calls Neil Diamond One of the Greats at the Grammys

Sweet Carolina, oh oh oh.

This has nothing to do with what I post, but I thought it was funny that Josh Groban referred to Neil as one of the greats.

Greek life and Tar Heels rejoice.

So good, so good.

M.I.A. "Paper Planes" into "Swagger Like Us" with Kanye West, Jay-Z, Lil Wayne and T.I. at the Grammys

A very pregnant M.I.A. just busted some shit with all those cats. She was supposed to be in labor today. Side note: Weezy went and pissed me off, T.I. too, for going gangster casual in their tuxes. Jay and Kanye kept it looking presidential and extra clean.

Jay-Z Performs "Lost" Remix with Chris Martin at the Grammys

I don't have any video, or anything, of this yet, seeing as how it just happened, but I enjoyed the performance and hope to have something for it tomorrow. Worth watching the Grammys for
