Mickey Factz "Rapio 2 Point OH"

"rightfully she's on the right of me,
and i know she wanna get right with me"

MeLo-X sent this joint he produced over that's going to be on his upcoming mixtape, Mustafa's Renaissance. I miss my weekly installments of Mickey.

Charles Hamilton "Dummy" and "Word? Aight!"

"this ain't no ice t shit, mother fucker i'm vodka
in other words i'm a monster"

So, in case you guys have been missing it, there's been a whole deal about the last tape Charles dropped, The Pink Lavalamp, that was supposed to rap up the Hamiltonization Process over at OnSmash but instead surfaced on ThisIs50. Anyways, that happened and so did a subsequent "beef" between Charles and Soulja Boy. Now there's a whole conspiracy theory going on about the entire situation, which you can read here. Still, "Word? Aight!" is now a diss track aimed at SB, either real, or fake.

Wale "Critically Acclaimed"

"and the critics like a monday morning signal caller"

I missed this tape the other day when it dropped. It's got a pretty solid tracklist featuring the likes of U-N-I and GLC as well as the DMV artist. I was fine with just this track though and I'm glad Elitaste let it free.

Aesop Rock "Ghosts of the Barbary Coast"

"In the district called the Barbary Coast, nickelodeons showed scandalous moving pictures..."

This isn't only a song, this is an entire package. Originally passed out at a Rock show on a USB stick, the package includes a new song, "Tomorrow Morning," the instrumental, artwork by Jeremy Fish, the same guy who worked on None Shall Pass, lyrics and a video of Fish artwork to accompany the song. And now it's all available for free download from the kind people at DefJux.

Download the package here.

Souls of Mischief "Tour Stories"

"it's pandamonium when souls touch down"

That's a throwback in itself just writing the name. This track just makes you feel good when you listen to it. Songs aren't made like this anymore.

GLC Feat. Solstice "Chi Worldwide"

"paradox flow i lay it down til you come up"

Off next week's GLC and RTC mixtape, Similar to the Letters. GLC is one of those rappers I'll never figure out. He's shined in the limelight, yet doesn't get his shine. He should be like a legend in Chicago by now.

Consequence Signs with Motown Records - Preps Album with Q-Tip and Kanye

Cons just signed a new venture with Motown Records and is already planning a release that is slated to be co-produced by cousin Tip and Mr. West.

Already looking forward to it.

N.A.S.A. Feat. Kanye West, Santogold & Lykke Li "Gifted"

"i'm gonna make the news be on at 7"

N.A.S.A [North America South America] is a collective of artists with a very Brazilian/funk influence. This track off their Spirit of Apollo is one of the feature heavy cuts from the album.

Never heard of this group but wouldn't mind hearing more. It got my interest roused.

Asher Roth "The Day I Got Crowned"

"little less harding, little more quan"

Asher Roth over The Roots' "Get Busy." I like them both, and I like this joint. Can't tell if this is new, or if this is just something that never saw the light of day. Either way, I'm ok with it.

DJ Don Cannon Leaves Aphiliates

"The split is merely a business and creative difference, musically, nothing to do with the personal relationship. We are on good terms, and speak often," Cannon stated.

Apparently this happened back in January and was just announced. At least it's amicable.

Staten Island Historians Piece Together Genealogy Of Wu-Tang Clan

"It was an immense project," said Tinsley, who coauthored the 450-page genealogical report. "For instance, it took us months to conclude that Ol' Dirty Bastard, Dirt McGirt, Big Baby Jesus, Osirus, Dirt Dog, and Peanut the Kidnapper were all the same person."

"Still, a number of exciting new discoveries were made," Tinsley continued. "We learned that RZA does in fact come from the same royal bloodline as Prince Rakim, and that Method Man, as many have suspected in the past, always holds the mic sideways when bustin'."

Next year Don will [ <-- a ha] be releasing a solo effort, Don Cusak in High Fidelity, and a mixtape Laura's Tape. An homage to one of my top five movies of all time. If you didn't get all those references, watch the movie, or better yet, read the book.

It's always nice to hear when someone reminisces. Part of the AllThatsFab interview session that's been released in segments.

Wale Feat. Brother Ali "2nd Time"

"so blame it on my reign, y'all all lip-sync"

Brother Ali has started to grow on me, Wale is on constant repeat and this just makes a deadly duo. Granted they seem a little forced together, the track lends itself to a collaborative effort. DJ Benzi laced the boards and this is off tomorrow's 10.Deep offering The New Deal. You can see some of the other names on cover, it should be good. They are party responsible for the Mixtape about Nothing so I expect nothing less.

Mixtape - Charles Hamilton: The Pink Lavalamp

Charles is keeping his Hamiltonization Process speed going dropping now The Pink Lavalamp, his first effort before the days of Interscope, over at Thisis50.

Charles gets a lot of haters for his affinity to pink and Sonic the Hedgehog, and also that his music could be considered experimental for hip-hop and his delivery at times is unique. I'm a fan of Charles though and am looking forward to playing this tape back.

Video - 808s & Heartbreak Drum Covers

I'll be the first to admit that I am a fan of hip-hop drum renditions. This cat Andy Devries pulls his best Travis Barker and does a great job. Lacking a little bit of gusto that Travis has though. Still good.

"Paranoid" and "Robocop" are my favorites.

Also, in case you missed it, Asher has got a new version of "I Love College" out. Apparently Weezer got heated over the guitar sample used and they redid the song. It's still sounds just as good. You can listen to it on Asher's Myspace.

Jay-Z Feat. MC Lyte - BK Anthem

Yet, another fly joint from Hov promised to be on the Notorious soundtrack. Right now it's loaded with drops, but when a clean cut hits you'll have it as well. Give me "Brooklyn Go Hard" and the B.I.G. demos that have been rumored for the soundtrack and I'd be happy. We'll see how the movie pans out; and the demos for that matter.

Jay seems to have been motivated by this project. If you don't think this sounds like the hungry '96 crack flow Jigga then either me, or you is missing something? The claps, guitar and Lyte on the track also set this off for a solid throwback mentality. I've replayed it 4 times since starting this post. What's everyone's feelings? Do you think the "grew up on lexington ave. my socks real high/moved to marcy projects round the time i was five" was a response/clarification to that joker jaz?
